Truck Bed Taxi is a collective of seasoned roots musicians from across the Kansas City area. We all grew up in small towns and rural areas across the midwest, riding in truck beds from one place to the next—chasing the promise of something new just over the horizon. Now, we find ourselves on the edge (or for some, right in the middle) of the KC metro, carrying those small-town stories with us.

Our music is steeped in nostalgia for simpler times but doesn't shy away from the tougher realities of life on the outskirts. The challenges of growing up in places with fewer resources for things like education, the arts, mental health, and diversity permeates our sound through a progressive and hopeful lens.

Truck Bed Taxi is always in motion—musicians hop on for the joy ride, and sometimes they move on when their road calls them elsewhere. But no matter who's riding along, the heart of the band stays the same: honest songs about where we come from and where we’re headed. Our hope for our music is that you have as much fun hearing it as we’re having making it, and together we can fill our tanks with good vibes for the long drive home.​
